  • From Selling to Sharing

    From Selling to Sharing

sharingI recently joined a national company, and as I share this opportunity with others, I am often asked “what are you selling?” which in the past created a bit of anxiety. When I shifted my mindset from selling to share the information, my anxiety dissipated. Some people will choose to buy and some people do not. With a change in perspective, I actually feel like a farmer planting a harvest, some seeds take root and grow and some will not. Changing you mindset, does and will change your life.

  • The Choice is Yours

    The Choice is Yours

florida_sunrise_099There will come a time on your personal journey, that if you actually start to like the person you are becoming, you will make the conscious decision to eliminate all that no longer serves you. Those things are the distractions that block all the goodness that life offers up like the beautiful sunrises or breathtaking sunsets. Life gets more enjoyable and you start to enjoy who you are and the gifts that you discover within you. Life was meant to be enjoyed not endured.

    Use With Discretion

get-out-of-jail-free-cardBe careful of using excuses as a “get out of commitment free cards”. Breaking commitments can produce inner conflicts within ourselves. Sometimes the best thing to do is just hold off on committing until you are able to determine there are not other conflicts. Be honest and upfront with people. Choose your commitments wisely.

  • Gas Up

    Gas Up

fuelgaugeEach morning make it a priority to make time for yourself. This helps to set your intention for the day. You can do this with morning prayer, meditation or quiet time; reciting affirmations or doing a mirror exercise. The method in what you choose isn’t the point but rather the dedication to the ritual. Think of it like this, you are a car with only one day’s supply of gas. As you go through the day, the gas you have is being used to deal the people and situations. By the end of the day, you are empty. Getting a full night sleep is when you are being refueled for the next day. We all know that you can’t get very far on an empty tank.

  • Heads Or Tails

    Heads Or Tails

flip-coin_5Les Brown has always stated that a person’s opinion of you does not have to become your reality, but in some instances you have to borrow someone else’s opinion of your greatness until you can envision it for yourself. Your words carry great power whether someone is talking about you either negatively or positively and you can build someone up or tear them down by your words. Always keep in mind that whatever you dish out, your surely will get back. There are always two sides to every coin.

  • Work in Progress

    Work in Progress

work_in_progressIn order to give you have to be also willing to receive. For many people the question might be, do you think you’re worthy to receive all of your good? For almost two years, I worked harder on myself then I did on any job I ever had. Why…because of the way I talked to myself, I was my own worst enemy.

Take a moment each day to get still and listen to the voice within. If it’s negative sounding, you might have some work to do. Matter of fact, don’t call it working on yourself, considering it giving yourself the gift of love, peace and joy.

  • Letting Go

    Letting Go

letting_go2In life as you work to reconcile the past and move forward, there will come a time when you have to walk away from toxic people. Choosing to walk away does not mean you no longer care. It may mean that in order to continue your journey to becoming the best version of yourself, you have to leave people where THEY are. There is something we can learn from each of our situations in life, and this one is called “letting go.”

    New Beginnings

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAIn order to move forward we have to be willing to reconcile the past. Carrying around your past can get quite heavy if you never sit down to sort through it. Once I realized that the past is just that, the past, I was able to come to grips that no matter how often it replayed in my mind, I can’t do anything about it. It is over. You only have NOW to make the necessary changes that you want to see. Forgive yourself as well as others and know that each day brings a new beginning.

  • A Gold Mine

    A Gold Mine

gold-mine“Success is something you attract by the person you become ” ― Jim Rohn

What I love about this statement is your enthusiasm will get you in the door, but what keeps you there will be your character. This journey we are all on is not just about making money or achieving success, but about the person you become along the way. Your gifts are the treasures that need be cultivated and displayed like gold. Your value is what will attract people to you and then the money will follow.

  • Partner Up

    Partner Up

Enduring FreedomDuring basic training, the instructors emphasized the need for having a “battle buddy”. They were essentially your accountability partner throughout our eight weeks of training. Your battle buddy was the one who help keep you motivated and focused. I have found that a “battle buddy” is not only necessary in the military but also throughout our journey called life. Your “battle buddy” may or may not be your best friend but they will always be the one to go the extra distance with you.
