“It is spring again. The earth is like a child that knows poems by heart.” ― Rainer Maria Rilke
I love my morning walks especially during the springtime. I think it’s because of the tree blossoms. The blossoms are a sign that what we thought looked dead is actually alive. Spring to me means new beginnings because it’s truly a completely new season during the new year. I love the possibilities that come with new hopes, new dreams, or new beginnings. The walks seem a little bit more invigorating and refreshing. My wish for this new season in life is that each and everyone of you find something that excites, inspires and motivates just as my walks do. Let your desires take bloom.

Your greatest gift is your adaptability. When you can learn to let go of your need to control, life opens up and flows. I am still a work in progress, but I am not so hell bent on having things go “my way”. Life has become more enjoyable and my relationships have significantly improved. I no longer feel as if I have to defend my opinions but rather expand my sense of understanding. Each and every one of us were created with a purpose that this world so desperately needs. As Zig Ziglar so eloquently stated: Man was designed for accomplishment, engineered for success, and endowed with the seeds of greatness. Know that you are not diminished by anyone else’s opinion.
Everyday we have to choice to focus on the positive or dwell on the negative. To everything there are two sides. The switch from negative to positive outlook is not easy but it is possible and it begins with your self-talk. Start here and fill in the blank…What’s the __ thing that can happen today? If your answered with BEST, congratulations!
In life there is a dynamic duo by the name of Now and Later. To be successful, we have to learn to appreciate now in order to navigate or influence want we want later. Take for instance, whatever you are going through right now in life can provide the tools and the wisdom you need to manage future difficulties later, if you look for it. Take what you learn now and apply it towards what you will face later. It becomes compounded wisdom.
Quite often we put a hold on our dreams based on the conversation that someone may have said to you that “you can’t do that.” When you hear that phrase “you can’t” it actually means “they can’t” and that is true. Only you can do you with the gifts and talents that are within you. Develop those talents and gifts in order to live the best possible life for you on your terms, not by someone else’s.
There are times in life when there will be two things that we may want but are not be able to decide which one is the one we should hold onto and which one do we let go of. When I was watching my granddaughter the other a day, she had her pacifier in her mouth when she tried to put the bottle in her mouth at the same time. She would not take the pacifier out of her mouth. I laughed and asked her, which one baby? “You can’t have the bottle and keep the pacifier in your mouth.” So often life offers up choices to us. When it comes to choosing things that will help us grow in life remember, we can’t gain new insight holding onto old thinking. To grow and thrive, we can’t eat with a pacifier in our mouth.
Self-confidence is an attractive vibe. There is something about a person who enter a room and their confidence radiates. To me self-confidence means your are not afraid to share your vision with the world or needing the approval of others to be who your are. So many of us are afraid of letting our light shine. The beauty of being human is, we all have the capability to develop this kind of self-confidence that others stop and take notice of. Don’t try and change the world until you are ready to change yourself and let your light shine bright!
A friend of mine prescribed a teaspoon of mustard to help me fight my cold. I took her advice and felt so much better. I wanted to know why she recommended mustard, so I Googled: mustard for colds. Check this out, “As a warming herb, mustard seed will encourage perspiration that can lower fevers and cleanse the body of toxins. This will help the body fight colds and flu.” My first instinct was to grab over-the-counter medicine but I wanted something natural. I love natural remedies but I do not have a passion for learning that subject, but I have friends who do. As in life, there are always different ways to accomplish something. Learn to let go of your notion of having to be right or wrong and stay open to new possibilities.
Everyone has a story but not everyone is willing to share their story, and that’s the sad part. Everyone can learn something from the experiences we are willing to share. There are lessons learned and insights that help paint a bigger picture of this big beautiful thing called life. Your story just may be the piece to someone else’s puzzle.
I recently read an article about overcoming obstacles. The author gave four tips with embracing self-awareness as the first tip. “If you don’t see the obstacle or believe it’s a hindrance, you’ll never reach your goals, blaming everything and everyone but the person responsible.” In other words, you can’t change what you are not willing to confront. Change begins with you. As Mahatma Gandhi so eloquently stated, “We need to be the change we wish to see in the world.”
