I have an elderly neighbor who holds onto everything. She gives me things that are more than thirty years old sometimes. I appreciate the gifts but I wonder why is she holding on to the stuff or better yet what does she plan to do with it once she passes. It may sound like a morbid thought but it always brings me back to the decisions I make for me and my family. I want to leave my family with more than just debt! I realize it is the memories that last. We are all passing through this time and space, if we chose to let go of things, we could begin to hold on to love.

There will come a time on your personal journey, that if you actually start to like the person you are becoming, you will make the conscious decision to eliminate all that no longer serves you. Those things are the distractions that block all the goodness that life offers up like the beautiful sunrises or breathtaking sunsets. Life gets more enjoyable and you start to enjoy who you are and the gifts that you discover within you. Life was meant to be enjoyed not endured.
Each morning make it a priority to make time for yourself. This helps to set your intention for the day. You can do this with morning prayer, meditation or quiet time; reciting affirmations or doing a mirror exercise. The method in what you choose isn’t the point but rather the dedication to the ritual. Think of it like this, you are a car with only one day’s supply of gas. As you go through the day, the gas you have is being used to deal the people and situations. By the end of the day, you are empty. Getting a full night sleep is when you are being refueled for the next day. We all know that you can’t get very far on an empty tank.
The hardest thing to do is to simply get started in whatever you want to do. Often we feel like we have to do everything “just right” in order to start, but that’s not often the case. The more you work on whatever you do, the better it gets over time. Remember that most of us learned to ride a bike with training wheels and as we got better, the wheels eventually came off. When you wish to start something new, it’s okay to use training wheels.
“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.” ― Mae West
In one of the books I read, it stated that we can not connect the dots unless we look back. Looking back is good once in a while, but your future is in front of you. Learn to reconcile and appreciate all of the events in your past because they have made you the person you are today. That means the choices you make today, will lead you to the person you wish to become tomorrow. How cool is that? You can become the master of your fate and the captain of your soul!
Sometimes you just have to say yes to an opportunity and then figure out the details later. Often our first response is to say no. Opportunities come to move you and to help you grow. The key factor is to remember that all prayers are answered. The answers just may not come in the form of our expectations.
Let your outside be a reflection of your inside. When you have the feeling of success on the inside, dress as if you already have success on the outside. There is nothing like the feeling of confidence when you know you look and feel good. You may not be where you want to be but celebrate where you are. You deserve it.
It is not the quantity of followers a person has but the quality of content that the person provides that matters. If you know that what you are providing is quality content and information, eventually people will take notice. Consistency is the key and a self discipline not everyone has. Trust the process.
Surrounding yourself with a strong network is vital to your growth. The more my business grows the more demanding my time becomes. With a strong network of support, I can do what I do best knowing I have folks who do what they do best. Together we can achieve more.
